Memorial Day Weekend
Ok- I'm out of "defense" mode and I'm going to give a run-down of how this past week-end went. Can you believe that I didn't take any pictures?? I am so slack sometimes. First of all- props go out to the military folks, past, present and future. Those people have my respect and honor. I come from a family full of military and I am so proud of our men and women out there risking their lives for what they believe in. Alrighty-the water was soooo cold at the lake. You would never know it by watching the girls swim from sun-up to sundown, but it was frigid. I had to get in to help Annelise get her skis on and make sure she was positioned correctly to get up on them and I thought I would have a stroke when I had to go down that ladder into the water. I think I set a new world record for going down a ladder the slowest ever. Anyway- it took her 3 tries, but she popped up on the third time and skied all over the lake. I didn't think it would take her long. She was getting really good at it by the end of last Summer. Emmaline could not be convinced to do anything- even with bribery. We promised her blendy pens and a pancake puffs set (girl loves her infomercials) and she wouldn't even go for that. Maybe next time. Last Summer I only got on the wakeboard one time. Brian gives me a hard time if I don't ski and stuff and tells me that I am not going to be allowed to turn into an "old lady". So, he bought me my very own wakeboard and made me try it out this past week-end. Let me tell you, it is amazing what a difference going to the gym has made! I popped right up on that board and stayed on it until we got back to the dock. I didn't even get my hair wet. Even though I have been so sore since then that I can hardly walk, it still felt good to get out there and be doing watersports again. I am bound and determined to get back to skiing on one ski again ( I did do that last year, but my ski control was terrible.) I really am motivated to get back in good shape. I want to be 70 and still be out there tearin' up the lake. All in all, we had a wonderful, relaxing week-end. Oh- Monday weigh in results (we don't have a scale at the lake- I mean, come on, it's the lake.).... I have lost 4.8 pounds and B has lost 6.4. I am so frustrated- he actually sat on the couch every night at the lake and ate oreo after oreo (double-stuff, mind you) and dunked them in milk and he still loses. I had one stinkin' cookie the whole week-end. I am so determined to win, though. I will prevail.............

Hi-
Just wanted to sign in and say hi.
I found you from Pike's Pickles.
Great job on the lake. It's worth the pain.
And I have to add to your recent post about the Christian Camp.
Being a dedicated Christian myself,
I have taken the opportunity to visit several different churches to see how other people worship Christ.
I have found that most Christians truly love Christ, but some have a very different way of showing it.
And some of those ways make me more uncomfortable than others.
I tend to agree with your perspective in that I am bothered by the "Christian extremists" that make the rest of us look bad.
I believe God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
K, that's my soap box.
I enjoyed the pics of the sunset too.

Della, I absolutely agree. People should be able to worship however they want. I am just so tired of the TV only showing the ones who are so extreme... Thanks for your comment!
Sound like yall had a good time. We love the lake too. Sad about the pictures:)...
Good luck with your competition....
